This workshop is aimed at writers and the curious souls out there who love to try out new things for the hell of it. We'll start by introducing the current state of AI and procedural generation for writers, before sharing a few experiments you can easily try for yourself with free tools: training an artificial intelligence on your own work, generating procedural poetry, adding depth to characters, figuring out what's going to happen next, and more!
We will show you how you can practically use artificial intelligence in your day-to-day games writing practice. We'll then make an "exquisite corpse" together by using prompts and input from direct audience participation along with the inhuman genius of artificial intelligence to cobble together a unique piece of writing co-authored by all attendees.
The workshop is given by Charlene Putney and Martin Pichlmair, games industry veterans who have become obsessed with AI and procedural generation over the last few years and are now crafting an AI-powered tools for games writers at

For this workshop online registration is not required to attend. The spots will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure to be at the workshop location at least 10 minutes before the starting time.NOTE: During this workshop the ethical side of AI will be discussed, and the biases inherent in large language models. This means that there will be talk about sexism, racism, and homophobia. We will also be working with a live AI, and cannot guarantee it will not produce anything offensive.
